Final Sealer: Topsealer Dragon

All resistance against stains, water, and dirt resides in the topcoat. This step is critical for microcement durability and service life.

Substrate Requirements Prior to Sealing

Topsealer Dragon is a high-performance two-component polyurethane topcoat. Never apply it directly onto bare, untreated microcement. Always saturate and prime the surface first with either two coats of TT Presealer or one coat of TT Pro-Plus to prevent discoloration and staining.

⚠️ Important Roller Selection:
Always use our 8 mm Microstar roller (8 mm pile length). Using the incorrect roller leads to uneven film thickness and is the single most common cause of topcoat protection issues.

Preparation Prior to Sealing

• Intermediate Abrasion: Lightly scuff the pre-sealed surface with 400-grit sandpaper or sanding mesh for optimal mechanical adhesion.
• Dust Removal: Wipe the entire surface thoroughly with a dry microfiber cloth. The surface must be completely clean and dust-free before rolling.

Mixing & Prerequisites

• Mixing Ratio: 3 parts Component A + 1 part Component B.
• Shaking: Shake both components thoroughly approx. 20–30 minutes before mixing (do not shake immediately prior to mixing to avoid microbubbles).
• Straining: Always strain Component A through a paint strainer when pouring to filter out any particles.
• Stirring: Stir the mixture slowly with a mixing stick. Allow the bucket to rest for approx. 3 minutes before application to let entrapped air escape.
• Pot Life / Working Time: Approx. 45 minutes at +20 °C after mixing.
• Coverage: Approx. 0.06 kg/m² per coat. If coverage ends up lower, apply an extra coat in the shower zone to ensure full protection.

Application Technique: Cross-Rolling

Apply the topcoat methodically wet-on-wet in sections of 1–2 m² at a time to avoid visible roller marks and lap lines:

Horizontal Pass: Roll out the topcoat from side to side across the section. Maintain steady, firm pressure on the roller to saturate the substrate thoroughly.
2.
Vertical Pass: Immediately go over the same section vertically from top to bottom, maintaining continuous firm pressure on the tool.
3.
Light Back-Roll: Tip off/back-roll very lightly in a single direction with zero pressure to level the texture and eliminate roller lines.
4.
Maintain Wet Edge: Blend into the wet edge that has rested the longest. Always maintain a wet-on-wet transition before the sealer begins to set.

Drying Times & Number of Coats

• Drying Time Between Coats: Allow coat 1 to dry for 18–36 hours. Do not use fan heaters; ensure good, natural ventilation.
• Intermediate Abrasion: Always lightly scuff the surface with 400-grit abrasive and wipe away dust with a dry microfiber cloth before rolling coat 2.
• Number of Coats: Apply 2 fully covering coats (3 coats in shower zones if coverage is on the low side).
🛑 Safety & Protective Equipment:
• Wear nitrile protective gloves and safety glasses during all handling and mixing.
• Ensure good room ventilation during application and curing.
• Avoid skin and eye contact. Keep out of reach of children.
