Sealer & Topcoat System Selection
Overview and guidance for selecting topcoat systems. All resistance against water, stains, and mechanical wear depends entirely on the sealing process.
🛑 Tool & Application Requirements:
• Roller Selection: Always use Microstar 8 mm or Anza Platinum Pro (6–8 mm lint-free microfiber). Using the wrong roller is the single most common cause of claims and finish inconsistencies.
• Cross-Rolling: Apply in sections of 1–2 m² wet-on-wet. Roll horizontally with firm pressure first, then vertically immediately after, finishing with a light tip-off stroke in the same direction.

DC Titan System
Fast & Vapor-Permeable
Fast-drying and vapor-permeable polyurethane topcoat, particularly recommended for basements and time-critical projects.
• Titan Topsealer: Waterborne PU topcoat with fast cure-through properties.
• Titan Presealer / Titan Cream: Diluted with 10–20% water. Cream is strongly recommended on bathroom floors.
• Time Savings: Only 3–4 hours drying time between topcoat layers. No intermediate sanding required if coat 2 is applied within 8 hours.

2. General Pre-Application Preparations
• Thorough Final Sanding: Sand the surface smooth and flat. The sealer adds no build and will highlight all underlying imperfections. Always use low-angle glancing light.
• Grit Sizes for Finish Coats: Sand Microdeck with 80 grit (machine) / 120 grit (hand). Sand Microfino with 120 grit (machine) / 240 grit (hand). Sand internal and external corners gently by hand.
• Vacuuming: Vacuum the surface using a soft brush nozzle (guard against cable scratches). Then wipe down the entire area with a dry microfiber cloth. All sanding dust must be removed—residual dust darkens immediately under the sealer.

3. Core Application Rules
• Edges & Corners: Cut in with a brush only on the immediate section being rolled (approx. 50 cm at a time). Never cut in around the entire room beforehand, as the material will dry and leave visible framing marks.
• Walls: Start in an upper corner and work downward. Watch for runs, especially during the second coat when porosity is reduced.
• Floors: Start at the farthest point and back out toward the exit in sections of approximately 1 meter. Saturate the substrate thoroughly, but leave no standing puddles.
• Surface Protection: Always protect floors when sealing walls, and place protective paper under roller trays during floor application. Drips landing on untreated cement cause permanent stains.

• Cleaning: Clean with water only during the first two weeks. After this period, only pH-neutral cleaning agents may be used.
