Primer Selection for Microcement

An overview of our primers and moisture barriers – functionality, application areas, and technical instructions.

Primacem Plus

Used on non-absorbent substrates (such as waterproofing membranes, vinyl sheets, tiles and pavers, or laminate). The primer has adhesive properties, allowing you to roll and embed the fiberglass mesh directly onto the substrate prior to troweling the first base coat.

Primacem ABS

Formulated for absorbent substrates (such as plasterboard, MDF, chipboard, and other wood- or gypsum-based boards). Primacem ABS balances surface absorption in a controlled manner, preventing moisture in the cement from being drawn out prematurely during troweling.

Acricem Resin

Used as a primer on concrete, tile adhesive, self-leveling screed, and other cementitious substrates. Because this is the exact same resin (Component B) mixed with the microcement powder, it delivers optimal chemical bonding with the base coat.

Primapox 100 Barrier

Moisture-barrier epoxy used when the surface requires protection against rising damp or moisture migration from below. Essential for sensitive scenarios, such as when Topciment is applied to floors only in a bathroom, or when a drain grate is set in traditional tile adhesive. The epoxy blocks moisture to prevent underlying mortar from absorbing water and causing discoloration.
