Forcrete — Forprime DPM
Complete guide for mixing, application, sand blinding, and drying times for the 2-component epoxy primer Forprime DPM.
💡 About Forprime DPM:
Forprime DPM is a 2-component, solvent-free epoxy primer that acts as a moisture barrier and bonding bridge. It is used on tile floors, uneven tiles, vinyl sheeting, worktops, and around wall drains to provide maximum adhesion and completely seal the substrate.

📱 Coverage & Mixing Ratio:
• Mixing Ratio (A:B): 71 parts Component A + 29 parts Component B (always weigh accurately on a scale).
• Coverage: approx. 120–150 g/m².
• Quartz Sand: When sand blinding, saturate the surface with quartz sand (grain size 0.1–0.3 mm) directly into the wet epoxy.
Always use the mixing app to calculate exact batch weights for your project.

⚠️ Important Information Before Starting:
• Working Temperature: Materials, substrate, and ambient air must be between +5 °C and +25 °C (max 80% relative humidity).
• Residual Moisture: Tolerates up to 6% residual moisture in concrete or self-leveling screed (standing water must not be present).
• Temperature Fluctuations: If there is a risk of significant temperature variations, always apply the primer in two coats.
• Storage: Protect the product from freezing.

🛑 Important: Mix a maximum of 1 kg at a time!
• Batch Size: Never mix more than 1 kg at a time. The product cures rapidly and has a pot life of approximately 20 minutes in the bucket at +20 °C. If you mix too large a batch, you will not have time to apply the material before it sets, triggering an exothermic chemical reaction with extreme heat build-up.
• Temperature Sensitivity: If the product, ambient room, or bucket is warmer than +20 °C, the pot life decreases further and the material cures even faster.
• Change Bucket & Roller: If you mix a fresh batch in the same bucket, or continue using the same roller after the pot life has elapsed, cured epoxy residue will accelerate the new mixture so it cures substantially faster. Always switch to a clean bucket and fresh roller.

1. Substrate Preparation & Setup
1.
Inspect the Substrate: The surface must be sound, dry, and free from dust, grease, oil, and loose material.
2.
Grinding & Vacuuming: Grind tiles with diamond tooling to abrade the surface. Vacuum thoroughly so the primer can penetrate and adhere properly.
2. Step-by-Step Mixing
1.
Weigh Out: Weigh out max 1 kg total at the ratio of 71 parts Component A to 29 parts Component B in a clean container.
2.
Mix: Mix with a mechanical paddle mixer at low speed (approx. 300–400 rpm) for at least 3 minutes.
3.
Transfer Container (Important): Pour the mixed epoxy into a completely fresh, clean bucket and mix briefly again. This eliminates unmixed epoxy residues clinging to the sides and bottom of the first bucket.
3. Application & Sand Blinding
Applying the Primer
• Spread: Pour the epoxy directly onto the substrate. Distribute evenly using a rubber squeegee, smoothing trowel, or roller.
• Saturate Pores: Back-roll with a short-pile epoxy roller so all pores and pinholes are completely closed.
• Sand Blinding: Broadcast quartz sand (0.1–0.3 mm) generously into the wet epoxy until the surface is fully blinded to saturation. Sweep up and vacuum away excess sand once cured.
• Waiting Time Without Sand: If not blinding with sand, apply the next coat within 6–24 hours. If more than 24 hours have elapsed, mechanically abrade the surface to a matte finish before proceeding.

4. Next Steps
Once Forprime DPM has cured, proceed with the base coat:
🛑 Safety & Protective Equipment:
• The product contains epoxy resins and may cause skin irritation or allergic reactions.
• Always wear approved nitrile chemical gloves throughout the entire application.
• Wear safety glasses during mixing to prevent splashes.
• Wear a particulate dust mask during any sanding and sand handling.
• Ensure good ventilation in the workspace and keep out of reach of children.
