Forcrete — Forprime EPST
Guide for mixing, troweling, and sand blinding of Forprime EPST on concrete and self-leveling screed.
💡 About Forprime EPST:
Forprime EPST is a 2-component epoxy hybrid combining properties of Forprime DPM and Forprime HB/FL. The product is used on concrete and self-leveling screed to eliminate an entire work step. Instead of priming and waiting for cure before applying mesh and base coat, you fit the reinforcement mesh directly onto the ground substrate. When troweling EPST over the mesh, you prime the substrate and embed the initial base layer in a single application.

📱 Coverage & Technical Information:
• Mixing Ratio (A : B): 75 parts Component A to 25 parts Component B (75 : 25). Always weigh accurately on a scale.
• Sand in the Mix: Add 500 g quartz sand (0.3–0.6 mm) per 1 kg of blended EPST liquid. (Example: 750 g A + 250 g B + 500 g sand).
• Coverage: approx. 750 g/m² neat resin when troweling over mesh (total approx. 1.0 kg/m² mixed mortar) / approx. 500 g/m² without mesh.
• Surface Sand Blinding: Fully blind directly into the wet mortar with quartz sand (approx. 2.5–4 kg/m²).

⚠️ Important Information Before Starting:
• Working Temperature: Material, substrate, and room air must be between +8 °C and +25 °C.
• Substrate Moisture Content: Maximum 4% residual moisture in concrete or self-leveling screed (standing water/film must not be present).
• Pot Life in Bucket: Approx. 20–25 minutes at +20 °C. Pour the mixed material onto the floor immediately after mixing to prevent heat build-up and flash-curing in the bucket.
• Storage: Protect from freezing. Shelf life is 12 months in unopened packaging.

1. Substrate Preparation & Reinforcement
1.
Grind Substrate: Diamond-grind the surface to remove casting skin, cement slurry, or screed laitance, flatten high spots, and open pores. Vacuum the surface thoroughly.
2.
Fit Mesh: Roll out 160 g reinforcement mesh directly on the cleaned substrate and spot-glue it with a hot-melt glue gun. Butt-joint widths edge-to-edge without overlapping to avoid ridges.
2. Step-by-Step Mixing
1.
Stir Component A: If not mixing full kits, stir Component A thoroughly before weighing out; otherwise, heavy fillers remain settled at the bottom of the container.
2.
Blend A and B: Weigh out 75 parts A and 25 parts B in a clean vessel. Blend thoroughly.
3.
Add Sand and Paddle-Mix: Add 500 g quartz sand per kilogram of blended liquid. Mix with a mechanical paddle mixer at low speed for at least 3 minutes until completely homogeneous. Transfer to a clean bucket and mix briefly to prevent unmixed residues along the sides.
3. Application & Sand Blinding
Troweling and Blinding
• Application: Pour out the mixed material and spread it evenly across the mesh using a steel trowel (coverage approx. 750 g/m² neat resin). Ensure the mesh is fully embedded.
• Sand Blinding: Scatter quartz sand generously directly into the wet epoxy until the entire surface is fully blinded and no wet patches remain visible.
• Curing: Allow to cure for at least 12 hours (overnight).
• Sanding: Sweep up and collect excess sand. Diamond-grind the surface smooth and vacuum thoroughly.

4. Next Steps
Once the surface is sanded and vacuumed clean, select the subsequent base coat in your system:
